People keep telling me that I fall in love too easily- that I should protect my heart, that I shouldn’t wear my heart on my sleeve… I fall in love at least 20 times a day. I fall in love with the sky and the sun and the flowers and my children. I fall in love with smiles, with music on the radio and with french fries and Dr. Pepper. I fall in love with the sound of laughter, blue jeans, accents… Sometimes I fall in love with complete strangers, especially the ones holding hands and kissing in public. The ones who aren’t afraid to be in love with the idea of being in love either. I don’t mind the pain of unrequited love so much, because I think they’re wrong. Love looks good on me

I'm only happy when it rains

yes, i am happy with the weather lately. 

it's been raining for two days and i'm hoping it would last, 

at least just for the coming weekend!

Frustrated

My blog is still a work in progress.
I have been checking out other blogs and designs and learning.
and sometimes it gets frustrating that I don't know
how to make or even understand a CSS or Html code.

I guess I'll just have to be more patient
and figure it all out on my own.

Fun stuff

 

i have been spending a lot of hours experimenting on my pictures with photo enhancers. i have become addicted to it. i love that i can manipulate the colors, crop, design, and be creative. free photo enhancers such as picnik.com have become a growing popularity for amateur photographers like myself who doesn't know how to use Photoshop. it's a helpful tool especially when one does not own an SLR camera, you can do a lot of tricks with this photo enhancers like a pro.

my seven-year-old francesca is somewhat a shy type girl.
she doesn't sing and dance around the house and
she stops when she gets caught dancing or singing,
or do a little acting by herself.
my daughter has always been a very self-conscious little girl.

but lo and behold!
cheska completely surprised me when she did this dance number.

how did she become so confident overnight? i'm totally clueless. 

 so cute!

When i look at you - take two

Naomi was asked to sing on the spot for the second time at the school's foundation day program while the judges tally the scores for the dance competition. We weren't expecting that she was going to sing again so we had to improvise for the music since we didn't have the karaoke cd that time and we also didn't have enough time to get the cd from the house. good thing, my sister had a copy of Miley's song from her cellphone so we just handed it over to the person in charge of the sound system. obviously, they had problems trying to make it work.

I think it's pretty obvious in this video that my daughter was a little bit upset. She was not as confident and lively as she was the day before. The school's foundation celebration had a dance competition and she was upset that her group was not able to represent their class well. The reason for this was the class was not prepared to perform. They were very uncooperative during practice. She was so into this whole dance contest and she worked really hard rehearsing all the dance moves she choreographed. She even made her own dance mix to make it more appealing and encourage the whole class to join, but they were consistently stubborn. But despite all the troubles and frustrations she encountered, I am proud to say that my daughter handled things quite well. She showed traits of determination, initiative, and resourcefulness right up until the last minute. I hated seeing her disappointed that way she's a tough one.

A year older

it's my birthday!
 only a handful of people knows about this blog
and i want to thank you for greeting me on my special day.

i am a little sad actually
because last year i didn't get to celebrate my birthday at all,
and this year totally suck big time. can't say the reason here though.

i still am a child at heart and
still would like a birthday cake regardless of what age i'm at.
it sucks! but it is what it is and
there's always next year to make up for it, right?

A blog was born

It's 2am and I'm still up! I'm thinking of ideas how I can make this blog more exciting. I'm definitely hooked creating my own blog design and browsing other blogs. Anything and everything is googleable these days. Originally I named this blog Rock&Chic but too common and corny, right?Then thought of using Dunhill simply because it's where we live. So, a simple nice font which I got from 1001freefonts.com and a few graphics from Photobucket.com, viola! My very own blog identity Dunhill Diaries. Sounds perfect to me. I love how the title and the background blended together. Simple and neat. I like it very much. I hope I could really post something creative and keep this account active. I had several attempts to create an account with several other websites, but blogger remained my top choice ever since.
